SEND Casework & Manager – Tameside

Pay - £450 Day

Are you an experienced SEND professional with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as soon as possible.

Main Purpose:

  • Administer and oversee the assessment and reassessment of pupils’ special educational needs.
  • Manage the delivery of an efficient and timely Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service for pupils in mainstream schools.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and new legislation.
  • Lead and manage the work of SEN Casework Officers.
  • Promote the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Team and work closely with pupils, schools, and families.
  • Represent schools and the Council at SEN and Disability Tribunals.
  • Contribute to local, regional, and national SEND developments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement SEND policies and practices.
  • Coordinate statutory assessments and reviews of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Maintain effective relationships with school leaders and ensure pupils' needs are met.
  • Deliver training to school staff on SEN assessment processes.
  • Handle comments and complaints from various stakeholders.
  • Oversee allocation panels for EHCPs and ensure timely decisions.
