An established manufacturing company in the East Midlands region is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a contract role.

This is for a 6-12 month contract.

The Role

As a Contract Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components for our manufacturing processes. Your primary duties will include:

• Designing and optimising mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery
• Conducting feasibility studies and evaluating design alternatives
• Preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance
• Troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues to improve efficiency and productivity
• Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus
