Initial 12 Month Contract

Job Description: We are seeking highly skilled Model Based Systems Engineers to join dynamic project teams with this global defence giant. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to design, develop, and integrate complex systems, and will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our systems are efficient, reliable, and innovative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement model-based systems engineering methodologies and frameworks.
  • Create and maintain system models using industry-standard tools such as Cameo, SysML, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct system architecture design and analysis, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with system design and development.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in MBSE processes and practices.
  • Document system design and engineering processes for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in model-based systems engineering, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or security sectors.
  • Proficiency in using MBSE tools such as Cameo, SysML, MATLAB, Simulink, MagicDraw, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, processes, and standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically and critically.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Eligibility to obtain necessary security clearances.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Knowledge of software development and coding in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP).

Due to the nature of this role you will need to have excellent team skills, be self-motivated, fast-learning and have the ability to prioritise and manage your own work with minimal guidance.
