About the Role:
A South West London local authority is seeking a skilled Financial Assessment Manager to oversee and manage the Shared Financial Assessment Service. This role entails overall management responsibility for adult social care and public health financial assessments, as well as debt recovery functions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Financial Assessments Teams to ensure timely and accurate financial assessments for individuals receiving adult social care and public health services.
  • Manage debt recovery processes, ensuring timely collection of owed amounts.
  • Understand the business needs for adult social care services and develop practical, customer-focused solutions to meet these needs.
  • Lead on complaints investigation and resolution related to charging.
  • Implement and manage changes positively, ensuring continuous improvement within the team.
  • Manage staff effectively, ensuring positive outcomes and team development.
  • Appropriately manage budgets and staff resources.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience of successfully managing a Financial Assessment Team.
  • Evidence of successfully leading change in a positive way.
  • Experience of managing staff with positive outcomes.
  • Experience in managing budgets and/or staff resources effectively.
  • Clear understanding of the charging framework for adult social services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • High attention to detail and methodical approach to work.
