The Role – Academic Mentor
The role of the Academic Mentor is for a graduate with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree to work in a primary school supporting students across KS1 and KS2 assisting with the academic development and progression of students within the class and taking groups out for intervention groups. As an Academic Mentor, you will need a confident understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to deliver group sessions to support lower ability students. As an Academic Mentor, experience supporting lower ability students is essential, as well as confidence working with SEN students in the class.

The school is a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Newham, near to Stratford and is a form entry 2 primary school catering for approx. 450 students aged 4-11 years old. The school is deemed “Outstanding” by Ofsted and is available by a plethora of local transport links.
