About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN-TA (Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant) with a specialisation in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our inclusive primary school in Hackney, London. As an ASD Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of students with ASD across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is essential.

• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, ASD Awareness, Makaton) are highly desirable.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

• Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with ASD, ensuring their individual needs are met in classroom settings and during specialist interventions.

• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and external specialists to implement personalised learning plans and behavioral strategies.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to achieve their academic and social goals.

• Facilitate structured activities and interventions that promote communication, social interaction, and independent learning skills among students with ASD.
