GSL is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in the borough of your choice. If you are passionate about supporting students with special educational needs, this role is perfect for you. With competitive pay rates ranging from £90 to £110 per day, we are looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include providing individualised support, assisting with classroom activities, and ensuring that all students have equal access to learning opportunities. An effective SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Support teachers in creating and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting student development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
