Section Engineer

£425 - £475/day

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Section Engineer to join our dynamic team working on the HS2 project in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to be part of one of the UK's most prestigious infrastructure projects, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of high-speed rail travel.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee and coordinate a specific section of the HS2 construction, ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the site team, ensuring compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials, and any issues encountered, preparing reports as required.


Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
  • Certifications: Professional membership (e.g., ICE) and relevant health and safety certifications are advantageous.
  • Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, strong leadership qualities, and a proactive approach to work.
