Our client is an award-winning Main Contractor that was established over 6 years ago and has a turnover around £10m.
Located in Cambridgeshire, they normally work with a range of clients including public sector, Local Authorities and Housing associations.
They typically work on smaller residential schemes that consist of 10 to 20 Units. They also work on smaller commercial schemes.
The Directors of the business previously worked with market leading and highly regarded nationwide main contractors in senior leadership positions before establishing the business.
Due to this, they have been able to put in place a robust process to deliver every project, ensuring that every single project is completed to the highest quality.
They have a small dedicated, well-trained team that are 100% committed. These individuals are equipped with industry standard training such as CITB, SMSTS, SSSTD, CSCS, Asbestos Awareness and First Aid.
PREVIOUS PROJECTS:
- Residential – demolish a series of disused garages, and for the design and bui ld of nine new houses on three sites with associated external works. (2.5 million)
- Residential – construction of a five-storey apartment block comprising 17 flats. (4.8 million)
- New build - demolish a series of derelict garages, and for the design and build of 3 flats and 5 houses (2.2 million)
JOB ROLE
Site Manager
We are looking for a Site manager for a new build project in North London. The project will consist of 10+ Residential units from start to completion.
The site is logistically challenged and are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the project.
This role will involve managing and leading the daily activities of the appointed subcontractors, in respect of Programme, Quality and Health and Safety.
They will Lead the progress on site, reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager and they will produce the required timeline of works, managing the Subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and are compliant.
Accountabilities and duties:
- Being the representative for daily site operations
- Managing progress and all daily operational activity including operatives and sub-contractors.
- Organising and co-ordinating site resources.
- Liaison with the Client
- Review of ongoing works with a view to highlight potential defects.
- Assist with the preparation of O&M’s
- Lead daily Start Up meetings.
- Run toolbox talks meetings.
- Manage the snagging/defects process.
Ideally, we are looking for candidates with these attributes:
- Experience working with a main contractor or subcontractor.
- CSCS Card
- Understanding of UK H&S construction laws and their application.
- High levels of quality standards.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
- Attention to detail & Quality driven.
