Role: Waste Certifier
Location: Thurso, Highland
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Pay Rate: £33,296 to £45,436 PAYE / £16.89 to £23.05 per hour PAYE
Clearance: BPSS Security Clearance (all candidates will need to go through this)

Job Description
A vacancy has arisen within Balance of Site Programme for a Waste Certifier. The purpose of the post is to maintain waste documentation and databases. The job holder will be responsible for ensuring all waste documentation is accurate and compliant.

Responsibilities
* Input, record and track waste consignment movements throughout all stages of waste management
* Record movements of nuclear material by input into ATOM for Waste
* Assist in performing Physical Inventory Taking
* Arrange publication, review and archiving of documents
* Operate the Waste Services helpdesk
* Carry out QA checks and approvals of waste consignment documentation in line with project and legislative requirements
* Review and update historical waste data
* Support Balance of Site providing consistent advice and waste consignment data
* Perform the responsibilities of Management Appointments relevant to post

Qualifications and experience
* HNC in business/science/engineering or equivalent qualifications plus experience
* Relevant site experience
* Good level of IT skills and a working knowledge of databases/systems and range of software packages are essential for this role
* High level of numeracy is essential in this role
* Basic knowledge of site Nuclear Materials Accountancy requirements
* Good oral & written communication skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Ability to work under pressure and to time deadlines whilst maintaining quality of output
